My gas burner clicks but never lights. What is wrong?
It is almost always a clogged burner port or a worn spark electrode, not a broken range. Food residue and spillover block the gas from reaching the spark, and once the port is cleared or the electrode is replaced, the burner lights normally again.
Do you repair both gas and electric ranges?
Yes, we do. Gas, electric, and dual fuel ranges, freestanding and slide-in, including the oven and the cooktop sections of the same unit.
I smell gas near my stove. Should I call you or the gas company?
Call your gas utility first, always. Leave the apartment, do not touch switches, and let Con Edison or National Grid make the line safe. Once they clear it, we handle the valves, orifices, and regulators that caused the leak.
Do you work on professional ranges like Wolf, Viking, and Bertazzoni?
Yes, we do. Pro ranges use heavier valves, dual-stacked burners, and different igniter systems than mass-market units, and our technicians carry parts and diagnostic tools for them.
The cooktop works, but the oven does not heat. Do I need a new range?
No, you almost certainly do not. The oven and the burners run on separate components, so a dead oven usually means an igniter, a bake element, or a temperature sensor while everything else in the range is fine.
Does the gas line need a licensed plumber before you can work on my range?
No, it does not for a repair. We disconnect and reconnect the range at the appliance connector as part of the service. A licensed plumber is only required when the gas line itself is being altered or a new unit is being installed.
